Love & Passion – Blog Carousel Post – Buffalo NY Newborn Child Family PhotographerAugust 14th, 2011This month the theme is Love & Passion. So many ways this can be interpreted through images and I had so many ideas of things I wanted to photograph to show it too. Then I started to get sentimental about my baby turning 1 in just 3 short weeks. My last baby. I don’t want anymore babies but oh the ache in my heart that a year has FLOWN by. So this is me. Raw. It is just seconds after Mycah was born and the image was taken by my husband. It is my first time holding Mycah in my arms after 9 months of feeling him inside my belly. I remember the moment. I was shushing him just a bit, kissing his head, smelling him even, trying to take it all in. It was wonderful, absolutely perfect – just as he is and has been this past year in our lives. Blog Carousel – Buffalo NY Baby Portraits Child Family PhotographerJuly 17th, 2011On to my images here, using my kids again. I love that most about this project, forcing me to photograph my kids in some way. First up is Mycah. I love his age now the expressions on babies at 7-10 months are hysterical. This is exactly him when he is just happy and LAUGHING. Then there is what is seemingly a simple image of my son Justin using the app Camera+ for those interested. Its pretty sweet. I love it because it is a true smile, laugh coming from him. He makes a goofy smile lately, camera shy, so getting a real laugh and smile from him is priceless. Laughter is an important part of summer vacation right? When you are done here please go check out Rochester, NY Newborn Child and Family Photographer Amanda Padgham. Not only is she one of my dearest friends, she is an amazing photographer. Of course, since it is summer and all, get yourself your favorite summer beverage and hop on the “ride” to visit everyone’s blogs. (Side note – have you had a passion tea lemonade from Starbucuks? On to my images here, using my kids again. I love that most about this project, forcing me to photograph my kids in some way. First up is Mycah. Someone graduated pre-k! (How on earth is he going to Kindergarten on me in a few short weeks?! Seriously too, how cute are these two little men. Reid will miss Jude SO much next year, it breaks my heart.
We had some quiet, snuggly time with Mom.
We built a fence with Daddy.
And of course with little boys – we have done a lot of bug searching. Here’s a little bit of luck for you!

family on friday l buffalo ny photographerMarch 11th, 2011Ok so this is going to be another new feature on my blog. I am pretty much an open book with my family. My family is my life – as I am sure it is for you too. So I am hoping that each Friday I will either share an older picture that has a lot of meaning to me (and I’ll talk a bit about why of course) or a picture from that week (this is really to make me more diligent about photographing my kids, you know about the shoemakers kids right? haha). I hope that you all enjoy following along and seriously, since it’s my family, really I love to see lovin’ about my kids so share and comment like crazy. It just makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. First up – our vacation to Long Island last summer. Oh how I am deeply craving summer and a trip to the ocean. I grew up on Long Island and as my husband says. . .”You can take the girl off Long Island but you can’t take the Long Island out of the girl.” Don’t get me wrong I really love Buffalo, but my heart, it’s on Long Island. Jude’s hair started to go curly that summer and it was hysterical to see. Especially since the rest of us are pin straight. It’s one of my most favorite images of him for that reason. Then my daughter Kayla just totally candid dancing on the small waves as they came in and tickled her feet. Justin collecting sand and water for his castle. Oh my, its like looking through these brings me back to the actual moment. Have you ever had an experience like that? I hope you have – I hope you have that when you see images I may have taken of your family!
