Love & Passion – Blog Carousel Post – Buffalo NY Newborn Child Family Photographer

August 14th, 2011

Yay! It’s time for another photographer blog carousel. I’m so glad too!

This month the theme is Love & Passion. So many ways this can be interpreted through images and I had so many ideas of things I wanted to photograph to show it too. Then I started to get sentimental about my baby turning 1 in just 3 short weeks. My last baby. I don’t want anymore babies but oh the ache in my heart that a year has FLOWN by.

So this is me. Raw. It is just seconds after Mycah was born and the image was taken by my husband. It is my first time holding Mycah in my arms after 9 months of feeling him inside my belly. I remember the moment. I was shushing him just a bit, kissing his head, smelling him even, trying to take it all in. It was wonderful, absolutely perfect – just as he is and has been this past year in our lives.

When you are all done head on over to my amazing friend Marianne Drenthe, Chicago Family Photographer by Marmalade Photography

And just so that we can be fair – an image that I took too. Do you see what I see??

Blog Carousel – Buffalo NY Baby Portraits Child Family Photographer

July 17th, 2011

So happy it is time again for the monthly photographer carousel, this month is laughter. It has been too long, or at least it seems that way. I feel like summer is slipping away so quickly, like a giant game of tug-of-war and trust me, I am loosing! So so busy these past few weeks yet so many more to look forward to. Despite the craziness that surrounds us all this time of year, take a little while to go through each of the photographers posts. They are all amazing, as if you’d expect anything less!

On to my images here, using my kids again. I love that most about this project, forcing me to photograph my kids in some way. First up is Mycah. I love his age now the expressions on babies at 7-10 months are hysterical. This is exactly him when he is just happy and LAUGHING. Then there is what is seemingly a simple image of my son Justin using the app Camera+ for those interested. Its pretty sweet. I love it because it is a true smile, laugh coming from him. He makes a goofy smile lately, camera shy, so getting a real laugh and smile from him is priceless. Laughter is an important part of summer vacation right?

When you are done here please go check out Rochester, NY Newborn Child and Family Photographer Amanda Padgham. Not only is she one of my dearest friends, she is an amazing photographer. Of course, since it is summer and all, get yourself your favorite summer beverage and hop on the “ride” to visit everyone’s blogs. (Side note – have you had a passion tea lemonade from Starbucuks? Yummy!)

summer fun / buffalo ny child photographer family portraits

July 1st, 2011

How is your summer going?! My iphone is my “go-to” for all things photo related with my kids (unless I need a more formal portrait for the wall), so I figured I have been way overdue for another installment of Family on Friday. Here is a small glimpse into what has been going on the first two weeks of summer. I am now seeing that I have lots of my two guys Reid & Jude and I am way low on everyone else. Must take care of that! Enjoy!

Ice cream for dinner at King Condrells in Kenmore. If you have never been, you MUST go. Yummm. It was to celebrate the last day of school!

Someone graduated pre-k! (How on earth is he going to Kindergarten on me in a few short weeks?! Seriously too, how cute are these two little men. Reid will miss Jude SO much next year, it breaks my heart.

We had some quiet, snuggly time with Mom.

We built a fence with Daddy.

And of course with little boys – we have done a lot of bug searching. Here’s a little bit of luck for you!

Oh the places we will go, the things we will do and the people we will see. I have big plans for this summer (although admittedly off to a rough start!) I found some great ideas online of things you can do with your children this summer and wanted to share. Let me know if you do any of these ideas!

100 Bits of Summer Fun

Racetrack for marbles with a pool noodle!

Sponge Balls (love this instead of water balloons because they are reusable!)

Family #1 ~ Love these two to bunches. Something about the rich black from the iron steps in this photo that I have always loved!

Family #2 ~ There is simply nothing like having siblings. I love a great sibling portrait!

Remember if you see your family’s picture here, you have 24 hours to post in the comments section below. If you do, you have the option of receiving a complimentary 8×10 at your next session or a high resolution digital file of the image above!

photographer carousel l buffalo child photographer

April 6th, 2011

Ok so think back to when you were a kid and how much you LOVED the carousel ride at the zoo, festival, etc. Cotton candy in one hand, the other on the ride. . .oh fun. So, another project I am working on is the photographer carousel. Once a month myself and a bunch of super awesome photographers will take a photograph based on a theme. It is going to be seriously awesome to see how each of these talented ladies interprets the word into a photograph. Just like when you were a kid except now its a latte in one hand (yum!) and your mouse in the other (so that you can keep clicking through all the awesome photos). After you check out my image, be sure to check out Amanda Padgham through the link below. Then go around through the Carousel by checking out who she is linked to, and on. . .and on. . .

This week. . .reflection

I am sure you have all heard it before “children are a reflection of their parents”. Well this is Reid and my husband is in the picture at Reid’s age. Seriously – a “reflection” of his father.
