Family #1 ~ Love these two to bunches. Something about the rich black from the iron steps in this photo that I have always loved!

Family #2 ~ There is simply nothing like having siblings. I love a great sibling portrait!

Remember if you see your family’s picture here, you have 24 hours to post in the comments section below. If you do, you have the option of receiving a complimentary 8×10 at your next session or a high resolution digital file of the image above!

Family #1 ~ Seriously just adorable can you stand her?! Love!

Family #2 ~ This little cutie just happens to be a referral from family #1. I love referrals they are the best compliment. They are especially awesome because I get to photograph gorgeous little faces like this one!

family on friday l buffalo ny photographer

March 11th, 2011

Ok so this is going to be another new feature on my blog. I am pretty much an open book with my family. My family is my life – as I am sure it is for you too. So I am hoping that each Friday I will either share an older picture that has a lot of meaning to me (and I’ll talk a bit about why of course) or a picture from that week (this is really to make me more diligent about photographing my kids, you know about the shoemakers kids right? haha). I hope that you all enjoy following along and seriously, since it’s my family, really I love to see lovin’ about my kids so share and comment like crazy. It just makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

First up – our vacation to Long Island last summer. Oh how I am deeply craving summer and a trip to the ocean. I grew up on Long Island and as my husband says. . .”You can take the girl off Long Island but you can’t take the Long Island out of the girl.” Don’t get me wrong I really love Buffalo, but my heart, it’s on Long Island. Jude’s hair started to go curly that summer and it was hysterical to see. Especially since the rest of us are pin straight. It’s one of my most favorite images of him for that reason. Then my daughter Kayla just totally candid dancing on the small waves as they came in and tickled her feet. Justin collecting sand and water for his castle. Oh my, its like looking through these brings me back to the actual moment. Have you ever had an experience like that? I hope you have – I hope you have that when you see images I may have taken of your family!

Mini Sessions Benefiting Ronald McDonald House l Buffalo NY Child Photographer

December 28th, 2010

This year I saw a friend of mine be blessed when her family stayed at a Ronald McDonald House in California. Her daughter had received a heart transplant and staying there allowed her entire family to be together during Princess G’s (as we like to call her!) recovery. You can read more about Gabriella and her story on Kristi’s blog here, http://listeningthruthenoise.blogspot.com/. Note: Grab a tissue or two first because Kristi is pretty good at tugging on our heart strings! Also, when I was little (like reallllly little) I had a cousin that was born with major heart deformities and my family was able to stay at a RMDH while she received surgery. So, needless to say I have seen how truly amazing this organization is and I want to give back to it. And I want you to give to them too.

updates pt 1 – buffalo ny baby child newborn photographer

September 13th, 2010

Well it has been a LONG time since I updated the blog so much going on though! The main reason I haven’t updated is because myself along with my husband and four children welcomed #5 on September 3rd! Mycah Alexander and he is amazing. I’ll share some pictures in the next couple of days!

Fun news to share though! If you are expecting or if you have a friend who is. . .head over to Kiss 98.5 and register for the “Born to Listen” promotion. You could win a prize package valued at over $2,000 with prizes from SH Portraits and other local businesses. How sweet is THAT?!

Go to Kiss 98.5 here!

fun news l buffalo ny child baby portraits

August 18th, 2010

Just a fun little bit of news to share this morning. I entered a couple of my favorite images into the photography contest at the Erie County Fair this year. My portrait entry received “best of” and was in consideration for the tri-color ribbon – yay! My pictorial entry received an honorable mention. It made trekking down to the fair 8.5 months pregnant with 4 kids and a husband in tow totally worth it.

Early November sessions are currently booking and October is extremely limited with just one weekend session left – please book now!

Here are a couple of iphone pictures from last night at the fair. . . .

“Best Of” – Portrait

Honorable Mention – Pictorial
